Looking for a postnatal doula in Portsmouth?
Then you’ve come to the right place!
The postnatal period can be overwhelming and emotional, and sometimes a little extra support is all that you need. A postnatal doula supports families in the early days (and sometimes beyond) when they are finding their feet with the new addition to their family. It may be their first baby or it may be that they have older children at home. Doulas provide emotional support as well as practical support.
When you book me as your postnatal doula you get the reassurance of a trusted, trained, and experienced perinatal professional to guide you safely through the confusion, fear and uncertainty that comes with having a new baby. I’m not here to tell you how to be a parent or to give you advice, I’m here to help you find the best way for you & your family. I will hold space as you explore your new roles, and lend a helping hand here or there if needed.
My role may include (but is not restricted to);
- A listening, non-judgemental ear
- Support to find your way through the advice and guidance
- Signposting to local services or appropriate information sources
- Practical newborn care
- Support with infant feeding
- Light household chores (putting a load of washing on, loading the dishwasher – don’t expect a full spring clean though!)
- Playing with older siblings while you feed your baby
- Support on those early trips out of the house
My role does not involve offering advice or telling you what I would do in your situation. I’m not here to provide medical advice, administer medication or take the place of your midwife or health visitor. I’m not a nanny or childminder, and won’t take full responsbility for older children or do nursery/school runs. I’m not a cook or a cleaner, and while I’m happy to help with light household chores I’m not a housekeeper! I’ll happily feed your cat, but draw the line at walking your dog (unless we’re out on a walk together!)

This package also includes support via whatsapp for the duration of the 6 weeks, and a term of Daisy Baby Tinies classes once your baby is old enough to attend (suitable from 6 weeks).
